PowerNet Limited is an electricity network management company that manages network assets and the delivery of electricity to a geographically large and diverse area. Based on a variety of criteria, PowerNet is judged as being between the 4 – 6th largest network company in New Zealand.

PowerNet manages all power connections and is responsible for analysis, design, construction and maintenance of the electricity network assets (lines, poles, transformers, sub stations etc) and operates a 24/7 System Control Room for all activity on the electricity network, including faults.

Field services are provided by a range of key service providers. These services include capital, maintenance and fault work on the network lines and substations and vegetation management work.

Due to the diverse nature of the business there are a variety of roles within the Company including:

  • Engineering: regulatory, protection, planning, maintenance, modeling, mapping and performance of networks.
  • Operations: contract management, project management, customer services, maintenance, network system control and health and safety training.
  • Finance: financial planning, reporting, regulatory, commercial and accounting.
  • Support Services: information technology, communications, human and corporate services.
